The 19th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (“Conference”) hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology (State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs) and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government was inaugurated at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center on April 24.
The SHENZHEN NEXT EXPAT SERVICE FAIR (“EXPAT SERVICE FAIR”) has been launched for the Conference for the first time, which is located in Hall 1 of the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center and covers an area of 2,142 square meters. In the EXPAT SERVICE FAIR, there are 14 customized booths, with a total booth area of 576 square meters, and there are also 40 exhibiting organizations and enterprises engaged in international public services, career services, and life services. Creating a fascinating and lively atmosphere for visiting using the highly expressive visual form of block fairs, the EXPAT SERVICE FAIR has attracted domestic and foreign talents to stop and visit, with the views of the photo live broadcast reaching 15,000. Wang Zhigang, Minister and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Wang Weizhong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, and other leaders visited the EXPAT SERVICE FAIR to guide the work.
On the site of the EXPAT SERVICE FAIR, 13 International Talent Communities including Shenzhen Talent Institute, Shekou Sub-district, Zhaoshang Sub-district, Guiyuan Sub-district, Xiangmihu Sub-district, Xin’an Sub-district, Minzhi Sub-district, Guanlan Sub-district, Meisha Sub-district, Bantian Sub-district, Pingshan Sub-district, Guangming Sub-district, and Dapeng Sub-district centrally showcase their community construction achievements, with wonderful activities such as band performance, lion dance performance, and taekwondo show taking place to attract visitors.
In the book bar & coffee zone, visitors can enjoy delicious coffee and also borrow foreign books to experience a slow-paced lifestyle amid the streams of people.
In the hometown specialties zone, foreigners “snap up” a variety of hometown “specialties”, including Italian chocolate, Russian candy and vodka, and French wine, which also capture the hearts of many domestic foodies; the Russian stall there has already completed nearly 100 orders.
In the cultural integration exhibition and experience zone, the distinctive folk calligraphy, lifelike dough figurines, exquisite Beijing opera face painting, true-to-life sugar painting, etc. are praised profusely by foreigners, with nearly 100 copies of folk calligraphy gifted on site.
Staff members from the Exit and Entry Administration of Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission, the Shenzhen Pingshan Tax Service, State Administration of Taxation, international schools, international incubators, and foreign talent service institutions have been invited to the Special Area to make presentations, conduct project roadshows, and provide on-site consultation services.
It is learned that the SHENZHEN NEXT EXPAT SERVICE FAIR is designed to promote friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries, discuss the concepts of international talent service, explore the paths of international talent community construction, actively help China gather global innovation elements and talent resources, set up a connected and win-win international exchange and cooperation platform and achievement trading platform, improve the effectiveness and level of international talent service, drive service consumption, and boost Shenzhen’s international city construction.
