In order to implement the spirit of the Central Conference on Talent Work, target the global science frontiers, serve the main economic battlefield, strive to fulfil significant needs of the country, and benefit people’s lives and health, further implement the strategy on developing a quality workforce in the new era, cultivate, introduce and use talents in an all-round way, accelerate the construction of talent centers and innovation hubs of global importance, and strengthen international exchanges of talents, the “Overseas Talents to Visit China” Event of the 19th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals Held in Hubei was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province on October 11, 2021. During the event, high-level experts from the USA, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and the Republic of Korea were invited for in-depth exchanges on topics such as enhancing basic research and platform construction and improving original innovation ability, giving play to the supporting role of enterprises in the transformation of scientific research achievements and promoting the integrative development of industry chain and innovation chain, international exchanges and cooperation of high-level scientific and technological talents; these experts also discussed how to strengthen the construction of comprehensive scientific research platform in Hubei and support the development strategy of Optics Valley scientific and technological Innovation Corridor.

Relevant leaders from Department of Foreign Expert Services of Ministry of Science and Technology, China Association for International Exchange of Personnel, Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province, as well as relevant personnel from science and technology management departments of some cities in Hubei Province, attended the event. The event was co-hosed by China Association for International Exchange of Personnel and Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province, and jointly undertaken by the Organizing Committee of Conference on International Exchange of Professionals, Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Cooperation Center with Foreign Countries and Shenzhen Center for International Exchange of Personnel. It was also supported by the science and technology management departments of Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong and other provinces and cities.
