The 10th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) Shenzhen Forum was opened at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center on the morning of November 4. Zhang Dejiang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, officials from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and Guangdong, Inner Mongolia and Shaanxi governments, and five Nobel Prize winners Finn E. Kydland, Edward Prescott, Dr. Thomas A. Steitz, Avram Hershko and Ada E. Yonath, as well as renowned Chinese scholar Yi Zhongtian attended the forum. Nearly 1,600 audience representatives from over 40 countries listened to the speeches.
Focusing on “Introducing Global Expertise, Promoting Common Development”, great adjustments have been made the contents of conference and exhibition in an innovative, distinctive and pragmatic manner, aiming at providing internationalized, marketized, professional and high-end contents. The 10th CIEP is composed of exhibitions and business talks, Shenzhen Forum, international professional convention, and top talent recruitment. A modern logistics exhibition area, an occupational credit exhibition area and parallel sessions are arranged on the basis of the previous CIEPs. As the core part of the 10th CEIP, Shenzhen Forum, under the theme “Gathering International Talents, Providing Services for Development Mode Transformation”, has always been known to be a prospective, philosophical and high-level forum. Historically, it has received many foreign politicians, 16 officials above the ministerial level, 7 renowned economists, 15 internationally renowned experts and 36 well-known entrepreneurs, as well as over 6,000 company leaders and senior management. Under the theme “Gathering International Talents, Providing Services for Development Mode Transformation”, the 10th CIEP, focusing on the concept “talents create value”, consists of political talents, Nobel Prize winners’ talks, debate on advantages and disadvantages of overseas returnees and local talents, female entrepreneurs’ outlook on talents, and talents and wisdom in sinology. Edward C. Prescott, Finn E. Kydland and some other Nobel Prize winners, master of sinology Yi Zhongtian, presidents of prestigious universities, international HR experts, and company leaders delivered their speeches. The forum includes keynote speech, debate, theme dialogue, communication on investigation findings and panel discussion.
Zhang Dejiang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council stressed the need to face the new situation and changes, and add new elements to international exchange of professionals, raising it to a new level. He provided the following advice. I. Greatly improving the exchanges and cooperation level with key points highlighted In response to the challenge faced the international society, international exchange of professionals should go higher, wider and larger, focusing on the exchange of high-level innovative talents, in order to make breakthrough in common key technologies, enable major scientific and technological innovation, and improve the capacity for tackling common problems, opening a new chapter for human development. II. Continuously innovate the mode of exchanges and cooperation with practical results emphasized Exchanges and cooperation should give play to complementary advantages for a win-win result. With pragmatic attitude and innovative mindset, it should aim to tap cooperation potential in the form of joint development and cooperative research, contributing to enriched and innovative cooperation, thus pushing forward cooperation in various fields and achieving practical results. III. Practically improving the environment of exchanges and cooperation with services improved By grasping the trend of international talent exchanges and following the principle of intellectual development and use of talents, mutual liaison and communication should be strengthened, keeping in mind mutual connection, international coordination and win-win cooperation. Open, diverse, flexible and inclusive policy environment should be created, in which intellectual properties are protected and innovation is encouraged, so as to facilitate the exchanges and cooperation of various talents.
